There are some really good reasons why you need to get out of the house and take your workout outside!
Speaking from someone who works from home, I find that I don’t get out of the house as much as I should and you might feel the same way if you are a mom or you work from home. Sometimes it’s very easy to stay in your bubble.
Today we are going to talk about taking your workout outside!
Why Should You Workout Outside?
The first great reason is to get some fresh air.
Don’t get me wrong, I love my air conditioning and I love it when the heater is on in the winter but you need to get outside and get some fresh air. It’s good to get outside to clear your head, take some deep breaths. It just refreshes your mental state. Depending on where you live, I live out in the country so it is really nice just to get outside and enjoy nature a little bit… And what a better way to do that is when you are working out.
The second reason to get outside and do your workout is to get some good old Vitamin D.
The sun is the best way to get your Vitamin D.
Disclaimer: make sure you put sunblock on to protect your skin from UV rays.
It has been stated by dermatologists that you can go out for 15-20 minutes without sunscreen or just apply some sunscreen and get some of those good sun rays on you to get some more Vitamin D. You can read more here on how much time in the sun is beneficial.
The third reason you want to get outside is to stimulate different muscle patterns. We tend to do the same thing over and over. We are creatures of habit. If you have been doing a workout that is pretty similar by taking your workout outside you are going to be using your body in different ways.

The fourth reason to get outside and do your workout outside is to prevent boredom. Again, like I said, we are creatures of habit. I definitely do very well with structure and I know there are a lot of other people who do as well but sometimes you just need to mix it up a little bit. If you are getting bored with your workout indoors, take it outside.
