So I remember when I was living in Virginia and I would commute from Virginia to new jersey because I was contracted to dance in two Nutcrackers at the same time. I would make sure I have a full tank of gas, some food and coffee, my dog and I would head north.
I knew where I was going.
But along the way there would be Beltway traffic…I would have to make some stops to refuel or hit the bathroom from all the coffee…but there was no doubt in my mind that I would get to my destination.
This is similar in weight loss….
But if you are driving from New Jersey to California there are some important things to know along the way.
First, you need to know where you are starting from. If you think you are in New Jersey and in fact you are actually in Australia…you are going to be in for a big surprise when you drive to the edge of Australia and see water.
Where are starting from?
You know the typical…what’s your weight, what are your measurements…but do you know where your mindset is starting from? What’s going on in there? This is when you come work with me. Let’s find out what’s going on inside of you.
Next, you pack the car…you start searching information…now this stage most women get stuck in…you get stuck deciding which is the right diet, the correct workout…unless you are a fitness profession or a health coach …leave this to me. You don’t go searching on google how to perform surgery on yourself so why would you do that for your health and wellness. Make a decision that supports your results. If you know you can get results by hiring a coach why wouldn’t you?
Then the time comes to take action…You get in your car and program the GPS…the GPS is your guidance system. When clients come to me, I am their GPS. I am here to guide you on the correct routes to help you navigate obstacles and to get you to your destination.
Now when you start driving in the weight loss scenario, you think you are going to hit EVER green light from New Jersey to California. And here’s the truth, you could pull out of your driveway and 5 minutes down the road hit a red light. Most women… unless they are working with me…turn around and go home. Or maybe you go further down the road and you hit 10 red lights in a row.
Maybe you get a flat tire…
Someone swerves into your lane…
Your car gets hit and it’s totaled.
If you are a driver than you know that going from New Jersey to California there will be stops, there will be times when you need to get a hotel and rest…there will be times to refuel…there may be fantastic weather or you might have to a bad storm. You may even take a wrong turn. If you are doing this without guidance you may even wind up in Canada! You could think you’ll be in Cali in 4 days when it might actually take you a month.
The point in all this is you expect this when you get ready to drive for a road trip but you think that weight loss is all green lights and it’s just not the case. I have been on many calls with women who have been hitting red lights for the past 30 years and they are frustrated that they are not getting where they want to go.
