Summer Slimming Tips
I have 5 summer slimming tips that you are going to want to use this summer.
If you are like most people, the summer is the time to relax and chill out. Go to BBQ’s and parties…and just be couch potatoes for a couple months.
That’s not a bad idea.
However, if you do have a fitness goal and say you are not quite there yet…
Summer can be devastating.
Because if you are not quite where you want to be and then add three months of inactivity and eating whatever and lots of alcohol. You are going to find, come September you’ve probably gained about 10 pounds.

Tip #1 Go for a Daily Walk
- If you are working in the summer, just go for a walk. A great time to go is on your lunch break.
- First thing in the morning is a great time to go. It’s also very peaceful because the sun is coming up and the birds are chirping. It’s not too hot….typically.
- Take advantage of that time and go for a 20-30 minute walk.
Tip #2 Hit your Local Farmer’s Market
Where I live in South Jersey…most people think of Jersey as the northern part of Jersey. Where there are a lot of cities and congestion. Not here in South Jersey. There are cows and pastures. It’s very open farm lands.
So we have a lot of local farm markets.
Take advantage of those farm markets. A lot of them are local produce companies. They are “mom and pop” places that are only open during the season. They have a great selection of vegetables and fruits.
Tip #3 Drink TONS of Water
In the summer, it’s (obviously) hot. Your body needs to keep cool and to stay cool. You have to stay hydrated. If you are thirsty, you are already dehydrated. Please make sure you drink lots and lots of water. You can aim for a gallon water per day. That’s not a bad ballpark (depending on your height and weight).
If you are working out and you are sweating a lot, you need to replenish that fluid that you lost. Don’t drink those sugar-laden and salt-laden products that “claim” to rehydrate you. Just drink water.
You can always have something a little salty to replace your electrolytes. But make sure you drink water (did I stress that enough :-))
Tip #4 Ditch the Alcohol
Sorry to tell you but you …need to get rid of the alcohol. I am not trying to be a party-pooper.
Alcohol is like liquid fat!
I promise you when you get rid of the alcohol you will be amazed at how quickly your body will trim down. If you can get rid of it… do so. Or at least cut down on it. Instead of having one drink a day do two a week. Try to fit it into your lifestyle. But I guarantee you if you cut out that alcohol you will trim down really quick.
Tip #5 Take Advantage of your Grill
Summertime is the perfect time to grill
- turkey burgers
- chicken breasts
So take advantage of your grill. Now if you are in a city or somewhere where you do not have access to a grill you can get the indoor grills too.
Grill your food. It taste delicious!
