I cook and eat a ton of eggs. I always hated having to peel eggs. Because I am cooking so many, I would be standing there for quite some time peeling egg. Some eggs would peel very easily and I would behold a beautiful unblemished egg but most of them looked like someone had already nibbled on them. Or as I peeled the egg, they would come out with half the whites gone and I would get frustrated and throw them out. Or I would chomp on a tiny, tiny egg shell because I had missed a piece…frustrating!
I found this hack somewhere online…I was skeptical at first but I was shocked it worked!
I was amazed that there was actually an easy way to peel eggs!
Easy Way to Peel Eggs
- Boil the eggs (see below for instructions)
- Place 3-5 eggs in a large, circular container
- Add about 1/8 cup of water
- Seal lid onto container
- Shake it like you mean it for about 30 seconds (I listen and when the “cracking” noise gets quiet I know it’s ready)
- Open container
- Pull out egg and shell should easily come right off
- Rinse hard boiled egg under cold water.
- Store in container in fridge.
- Ditch the excess shells and dump out the water to start the next batch.
