Today we are talking about 3 types of action you can take to lose weight.

3 Actions You Can Take To Lose Weight

Action

This one we all know this one.

This is where most women start their weight loss journey.

I “have to” go to the gym.

I “have to” workout.

I “have to” eat this specific particular way.

These actions step are all the things you think you have to do to be successful in weight loss.

Now, raise your hand if you have done this.

There is no problem with taking action but if you think you “have to” or are “forcing” yourself than you will never have lasting weight loss.

The starting line is inside your head.

Why do you want to go to the gym, workout or eat a certain way?

Your first response is probably “I DON”T want to do any of that..but I have to to get results”…did you hear that “have to”??

What if weight loss could be super simple??

It can be.

This is what I teach my clients.

Reaction

This is when you step on the scale and see a number that you are not happy with.

Or you put on some pants that are super snug and you used to be able to zip them up easily.

Or you see a photo of yourself at your latest speaking event and you think you look huge on stage…

You are reacting to what is happening outside of you.

This is typically when the frantic “I gotta fix this now!” sets in.

If you are in a rush to change your body …your weight will rush back on to you when you are out of the frenzy “gotta fix this now” phase.

3rd Action is…

Inaction

This is when you are like “screw it”!

I don’t care anymore.

Nothing seems to work anymore and you are just so frustrated with your body and with yourself that you decide you are just gonna go numb and overeat and sit on the couch and binge watch all the Netflix shows you missed when you were working out and prepping all that food.

Now, you can spend some time in each of these action areas at various points in your weight loss journey.

Being in any of these action, reaction and inaction is really not a problem…it again comes down to what you’re thinking.

If you think that you “have to” workout and eat rabbit food AND you don’t want to …you will not do it for very long.

If you think you need to be fixed because you weigh a certain number or you don’t think you live up to whatever expectation you have set for yourself or some societal expectation that has set …you will probably spend a lot of time in shame and “I am not good enough” thoughts.

 I can tell you from personal experience this reaction phase SUCKS! Having been a ballet dancer and even when I first started out as a Personal Trainer…there was this expectation I put on myself to look a certain way.

And lastly if you think that you just can’t lose weight no matter what you try or it’s not happening as fast as you would like it…inaction will be miserable. It may feel good on a surface level…thoughts might be “I deserve to rest …if my body won’t cooperate why fight it”.

All those superficial pleasures just covers up the shame and doubt that you can’t do what you say you want to do…which is lose weight.

Which Action Phase Are You In?

So what action phase are you currently in?

Now how to you shift out of these action phases??

Well, you don’t.

Each action phase has a part to platy in your weight loss journey.

It’s what you’re thinking about yourself in each of those phases is where the magic happens.

This is also individualized.
