Congratulations to the Best Body Winners!!!

Hard to believe it has been over12 weeks since we started the Best Body Challenge. 

We started with 30 contestants. The participants came every Saturday for 12 weeks to Shape It Up’s Boot Camp and followed a recommended  nutritional and workout plan  on their own.  These individuals worked hard each week and it shows!

 Also, we raised over $300 to the Junior Women’s Club!  Thank you to everyone’s generous offer to this great charity organization!

 Thanks to the  contribution of  local businesses, we had over $500 in gifts to give to these hard-working individuals!

 Winners were judged on overall emotional and physical changes.

 We had three winners in the end (though everyone won in my eyes!)

 Our Runner Up:

Gina Maloney of Pitman

 Before the Best Body Challenge, Gina always felt sluggish and stressed.  She didn’t know who the person was looking at her in the mirror. Now 12 weeks later, she is  more energetic and wants to workout everyday!  She is handling stress better and feels awesome!

 We had a tie for 1st place :

 Terry Matczak of West Deptford lost 12 pounds and can now touch her toes (a personal goal of hers)!

 Terry was inactive and very unhappy with the shape of her body. She wanted to quit smoking and not gain weight.  Terry found the  Best Body Challenge and committed herself to the program. Now Terry is a new woman!  She has increased her self-confidence level, has more energy and can now wear clothes she hasn’t put on in years.

Kamee Reese of Alloway also lost 12 pounds and will never say “I can’t” again!

 Kamee never exercised before coming to Shape It Up.  She always thought she was too out of shape to begin a fitness program. She was tired of her weight getting in the way of the things she wanted to do in  life (like riding on rides at amusement parks with her kids).

Six weeks into the Best Body Program, she was hooked on exercise! She had more stamina, stress levels were down, better posture and more self confidence.  Now, exercise has become a part of her life.  She exercises everyday and has gone from struggling to walk 3 miles whereas now she does it with ease 5 times a week. Kamee states “I can’t believe how much the Best Body Challenge changed my life!”
These women are a testament to what can be done if you just put your mind to it.  I am sure there were many days when they wanted to quit but they didn’t.  That is the difference between those that succeed and those that don’t.  So what ever your life goals, keep pluggin away at them and if you work hard enough they just might come true.
